Kurt belonged to a friend of Queen Bat, King Rat, who lived in Berlin for a year. One day he was surfing on the Internet, and came to the web page of Tierheim Berlin, the home of Berlin's abandoned animals. There, on the front page, was this picture...

King Rat found him here; in building 3, block 2, cell 8 where Kurt was patiently waiting for his deliverance.

Six months later, King Rat adopted Kurt, and Queen Bat drove the Pontiac to Berlin to bring him and his daddy home. For a couple of weeks, they stayed with Queen Bat in Rimbo, and Kurt really enjoyed the garden, and the old tire that his daddy hung in the apple tree.

After moving into their new apartment in Stockholm, the happy pair could be seen most mornings, walking on Långholmen. However, Kurt and his daddy moved to Kalmar...

...and bought a summer cottage in Öland. This is Kurt enjoying the lawn! Unfortunately, his health declined as he got older, and he passed away in August, 2007. He lives in our memories, and in Afghan Heaven where he has a special place.
